In his feature film career, Beacham quickly earned a reputation as a worldbuilder and has worked with visionary filmmakers such as Ridley Scott, Joseph Kosinski, and with J.J. Beacham had previously collaborated with Del Toro on the giant monster epic Pacific Rim, starring Idris Elba, from an idea Beacham had sold to Legendary Pictures. The release of the film also saw Beacham’s first foray into print, when he revisited the characters he’d created to pen the bestselling graphic novel “Pacific Rim: Tales From Year Zero.”
In recent years, Beacham has expanded into television. In 2017, he contributed to the first season of Amazon Studios and Channel 4’s anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, writing the episode “Autofac,” starring Janelle Monáe and Juno Temple.
As a writer and filmmaker, Beacham continues to focus on developing new original material for the screen, including his film The Curiosity as well as the sci-fi TV series Ballistic City.
His debut series Carnival Row is produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television and is set to premiere on August 30, 2019.
