Clancy Brown began his acting career in Chicago theater and continued to perform on stage locally until he won the role of Viking, a nasty prison inmate, in the 1983 feature film Bad Boys starring Sean Penn. He has gone on to star in many motion pictures; among them is the multiple Oscar-nominated film The Shawshank Redemption, as well as Chappaquiddick, Thor: Ragnarok, Cowboys and Aliens, The Guardian, Starship Troopers, Blue Steel, Shoot to Kill, Extreme Prejudice, and the cult classic Highlander. He even played Frankenstein opposite Sting in the 1985 adaptation of The Bride.

Brown has a prolific career as a voice actor. He is celebrating 21 years playing the role of Mr. Krabs on the world-wide hit series SpongeBob SquarePants and is a fan favorite in the DC Animation Universe portraying Lex Luthor. Brown plays the inimitable Detective Hank Anderson in Quantic Dream's popular PS4 game Detroit: Become Human. The hit game surpasses 5 million copies sold and counting.
Most recently, Clancy appeared as a series regular in the role of Ed on ABC's Emergence, as well as guest-starring as LBJ on the hit Netflix series The Crown and as Burg in Chapter 6 of the new Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
Next up, Brown depicts the role of Mortician Montgomery Dark in the highly anticipated October 15th premiere of The Mortuary Collection, an anthology of horror stories exclusively on Shudder. He also appears in the critically acclaimed film Promising Young Woman as Carrie Mulligan's father, Stanley Thomas, in addition to reprising Mr. Krabs for the upcoming third film installment of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on The Run.
