Zazie Beetz is a German-born, American Emmy nominaated actress. Beetz is currently working opposite Idris Elba and Jonathan Majors in Jeymes Samuel’s upcoming Netflix feature, The Harder They Fall. Her most recent film, Nine Days, premiered at Sundance ’20 and received high praise alongside its nomination for the Grand Jury Prize. Beetz worked among an ensemble of talent in Nine Days, opposite of Bill Skarsgard and Winston Duke.
She can be seen in The Joker, which garnered nominations for both the Golden Globes and Oscars, opposite Joaquin Phoenix and brought to life by Todd Philips and Warner Brothers. She can also be seen in Noah Hawley’s Lucy in the Sky for Fox Searchlight with Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm. Prior to that, she filmed the period piece Seberg, alongside Kristen Stewart and Anthony Mackie with Director Benedict Andrews and producer Fred Berger.

Beetz earned a 2018 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series after Season 2. She recurred on Joe Swanberg’s Easy for Netflix. She is currently recording her series regular role on the Amazon Original series, Invincible and will also be seen in the role of Holly in the upcoming indie film Shelter.
