LONDON—10 March, 2023—Prime Video is sending James May to India for the third instalment of his Our Man In… series. Following the success of James May: Our Man in Japan, and James May: Our Man in Italy, the new series will take May on an epic adventure across 3,000 miles of the Indian subcontinent.
Starting his journey in Mumbai, May will travel north through Udaipur to experience Holi festival, before he heads into Rajasthan. He’ll then cover Delhi, Agra and Jaipur—the so-called “golden triangle”—before following the Ganges eastwards to the holy city of Varanasi. Next, a trip to Kolkata, followed by the Himalayan foothills around Darjeeling, before ending his journey in the natural wonders of the Sundarbans.
The series will reunite the team behind the previous series, including BAFTA-nominated series director Tom Whitter (James May’s Toy Stories, Cars of the People) and executive producer Will Daws (James May’s Toy Stories, George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces).
May will also continue his gastronomical adventures in the kitchen as he attempts to make cuisines from around the world in Oh Cook! Series Two, set to launch 24 May on Prime Video.
Oh Cook! proves once again that you don’t need to be a gastronomic wizard to make delicious food. The series will continue May’s journey from kitchen klutz to capable cook, as he takes on the world’s most mouth-watering dishes and masters the tricks that can make good food great, using ingredients you can buy from your local shop and all without the usual television-cooking-format trickery.
“I’ve been to India before, and it’s mesmerising. I can’t wait to go back for Series Three of Our Man In…,” said James May. “And for Oh Cook! fans, it’s also the perfect opportunity to perfect my daal.”
“We asked Our Man In… fans what they would like to see next, and this fabulous journey was the clear favourite,” said Dan Grabiner, head of Originals, UK & Northern Europe, Prime Video. “We can’t wait to get James and the team back out there for another adventure.”
Both series will be produced by Plum Pictures and will launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
Both series represent the growing UK Original slate on Prime Video, along with new UK-produced series and movies launching across 2023. These include 007’s Road to a Million, an unscripted adventure series inspired by James Bond; the second series of Clarkson’s Farm, which shows another year in the life of Diddly Squat farm, as Britain’s best-known (but least qualified) farmer, Jeremy Clarkson, returns with his rag-tag band of agricultural associates; How to Date Billy Walsh, a British high school romantic-comedy film; Gassed Up, London-based action-thriller film; stranger-than-fiction docuseries The Greatest Show Never Made and Fake Sheikh; psychological thriller and twisted love story Wilderness; and Fifteen-Love, a drama series set in the world of elite tennis.
