On August 30, 2019, Gyasi will star as a lead in the highly anticipated new Amazon Original series Carnival Row which is set in a Victorian fantasy world populated by both humans and immigrant mythological creatures whose homelands were invaded by the empires of man. The growing population of supernatural beings struggles to coexist with humans — forbidden to live, love or fly with freedom. Gyasi will star alongside Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne. Gyasi is also set to feature in the fantasy drama Come Away starring alongside Angelina Jolie and Michael Caine, centered around the title characters of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
In October 2019 Gyasi will feature in Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil, the sequel to Walt Disney’s 2014 box office hit Maleficent. Amongst others, the film stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning and Juno Temple, in a continuation of the first film’s plot exploring the complex relationship of Maleficent and Aurora.
Gyasi featured in the action-packed thriller Cold Blood Legacy (2019) as Malcolm alongside Jean Reno. Prior to this Gyasi featured in films including a role in The Dark Knight Rises (2012) starring alongside Christian Bale and Tom Hardy. In the same year, he also appeared in science fiction film Cloud Atlas adapted from the 2004 novel of the same name by David Mitchell. In 2005 Gyasi was featured in Beyond The Gates starring alongside John Hurt and Hugh Darcy.
Gyasi was cast in a leading role in the Emmy award winning BBC mini-series Man In An Orange Shirt (2017), the drama tells three love stories from two generations of a family, in the 1940’s and in 2017.
Gyasi also starred in CW’s TV-series Containment (2016) as the lead, White Heat (2012), Doctor Who (2012), as well is appearances in films including: Hunter Killer (2018) with Gerard Butler, Annihilation (2018) alongside Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaac Torchwood (2005), Panic (2014) in which he played the star role of Andrew Deeley, and Red Tails (2012).
