    Based on the video album “Amar É Para os Fortes,” by Marcelo D2, the series tells the saga of two black women from Rio de Janeiro who see their fates intertwined forever during Mother's Day. Cida loses her 11-year-old son, Sushi, to police violence. Edna is the mother of Digão, the policeman who kills the child. Seeking justice and surrender, both mothers will face police corruption, the morosity of the justice system and the pain of their losses. Cida will have the support of her eldest son, the visual artist Sinistro, who, together with the artists from Maré Community will fight, through the arts, for justice for Sushi.
