Ashleigh LaThrop will soon be seen in a lead role for Gillian Flynn’s new Amazon Original series Utopia. A native of Chicago, LaThrop’s formal training has deep roots in the storied stages of Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Steep Theatre. Her work garnered her two Jeff nominations for her outstanding portrayals of Darlene in Balm in Gilead and Jade in Motortown.
Transitioning into film and television, LaThrop booked a recurring role on the half-hour comedy Sirens for USA and appeared in Chicago P.D. for NBC and Dick Wolf. Turning her sights to Los Angeles, LaThrop landed a supporting role in Universal’s hit Fifty Shades franchise, appearing in both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Later that year, LaThrop started work on the Golden Globe-winning comedy The Kominsky Method for Chuck Lorre opposite Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, garnering her a SAG nomination for Best Ensemb

When not working, LaThrop enjoys traveling abroad, dancing to any and all music available, and attempting to learn new languages.
