Christina Vidal Mitchell was born and raised in Whitestone, Queens, New York. The youngest child of Puerto Rican parents Josephine and Manuel, Vidal always marched to the beat of her own drum. She began acting by chance when her Junior High School teacher gave her a flyer for an open audition in the film Life with Mikey. Eventually, Vidal landed the lead role with Michael J. Fox and achieved two milestones: her professional debut and becoming the first Puerto Rican child actress to play a lead in an American film. For high school, Vidal attended the Performing Arts School of New York. She was just getting started.
She has since appeared in many television series and specials, holding both series lead and series regular roles. Vidal is often recognized for her performance in the title role of Nickelodeon’s Taina, which ran for two seasons and was a cult favorite for tween and teen girls. Sh
