Born and raised in Miami, breakout star Henri Esteve always knew he wanted to act and put that passion to the test by kicking off his career in theater. Wanting to take his dream of acting further, he moved to New York City to study at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute. He booked a number of roles, including Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, as well as Don Peterson’s Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, Edward Allen Baker’s North of Providence and David Auburn’s Proof.
Soon after, he moved to Los Angeles and made his television debut with his role in the hit ABC series, Revenge. He portrayed the arrogant and ambitious black hat hacker Javier Salgado. He then played Abel in the award-winning and critically acclaimed Amazon Original series Homecoming with Julia Roberts. Making his way to Freeform, Esteve portrayed Javier, an intelligent, well-educated and disciplined grad student whom Ana (Francia Raisa) interns with at Cal U in the hit series Grown-ish.
Henri can now be seen in the new Amazon Freevee comedy Primo. Hailing from New York Times best-selling author Shea Serrano and Emmy-winning producer Michael Schur (The Good Place, Parks and Recreation), the series follows Rafa, a teenager balancing college aspirations, societal expectations, and a hectic home life, anchored by his single mom and five uncles. Esteve stars as Mike, a fit, disciplined, military man, and the second youngest of Rafa’s uncles.
Born to a Cuban mother and a Spanish father, Esteve has an eclectic range of interests outside of acting. He loves basketball, writing, sculpting and poker. Henri currently resides in Los Angeles and enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog Charlie, a German Shepherd Coyote mix.
