Liniker is a transgender Brazilian singer and songwriter, born in 1995. Her poetry addresses everyday situations of love life (flirting, sex, frustration, unrequited attraction) and is enthusiastically welcomed by young people who feel biased due to sexual orientation and gender identity.
Being black is a prominent theme in her works, in which she combines different references from black music. Liniker stands out not only for the technical power of her voice (in tune and full of nuances), but also for the social representativeness. As a trans woman who writes and sings about love, she connects her work with an audience that is rarely recognized in Brazilian music.
