Miguel Gurwitz was named TNF en Español’s play-by-play announcer in August 2022. In addition to his role with TNF en Español, Gurwitz also serves as a sports anchor for NBC TELEMUNDO and hosts a podcast called Mother Soccer.
The Emmy-award winning Gurwitz is a renowned sports journalist with experience covering top sporting events for 25 years. He has been the play-by-play announcer for The Open Championship from 2017 to 2022, has covered the FIFA World Cup (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018), Summer Olympics (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020), the Winter Olympics (2002 and 2006), Super Bowl (2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022), MLB World Series (2018), Copa América (2004, 2007 and 2011), five Copa de Oro tournaments, the FIFA Confederations Cup, the Indy Light series, NASCAR, the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, pre-Olympic qualifying tournaments, and the Goodwill Games, among others.
Before joining NBC TELEMUNDO, Gurwitz spent more than 18 years at Televisa Deportes, where he served as host and analyst for a wide variety of programs and was the correspondent and commentator for coverage of the Mexican National Team for 15 years.
Gurwitz received his bachelor’s degree in information technology and sports studies from UNAM.
