    Miranda Richardson is an accomplished stage, film and television actress with a prodigious range. Her performances have been widely met with critical acclaim and award nominations. Richardson trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She made her first impression on film audiences in Mike Newell’s Dance with a Stranger. Her first US production was Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun. In 1992 Miranda’s performances in The Crying Game, directed by Neil Jordan, Enchanted April, directed by Mike Newell and Damage, directed by Louis Malle, garnered her the New York Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress of the year. Richardson won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Damage at the BAFTAs in 1993 and two Golden Globe awards for Best Actress (1993) and Best Supporting Actress in a Series (1995) for Enchanted April and Fatherland, respectively.
