Fitzpatrick has been the starting quarterback for nine different teams—the most in league history. As a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018, Fitzpatrick became the first NFL quarterback to throw for over 400 yards in three consecutive games. He is also the only NFL player in history to have a passing and rushing touchdown with eight different teams.
Fitzpatrick’s NFL career followed his graduation from Harvard, where he led Harvard to an undefeated Ivy League Championship season his senior year. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams.
