After graduating high school, Wes Chatham joined the military and worked as an aviation firefighter on the flight deck of the USS Essex. Three months before his tour was finished, Denzel Washington chose his ship to shoot Antwone Fisher. While searching for authentic military guys casting director Robi Reed discovered Chatham, and he received his first movie-making experience. Following Antwone Fisher, Reed convinced Chatham to move to Hollywood and cast him in his first series regular role on Showtime’s Barbershop. He went on to land another series regular role in CBS’s The Unit.

Chatham was a part of the SAG Award Winning Ensemble Cast in DreamWork’s The Help starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain, Allison Janney, Mike Vogel and Sissy Spacek. The film also received four Academy Award nominations and a Best Supporting Actress win for Octavia Spencer. Other film credits include roles in Husk, Philly Kid. This Thing With Sarah, Broken Horses and The Town That Dreaded Sundown. He also appeared in The Hunger Games Mockingjay 1 & 2 as Castor and recently appeared in All I See is You.
