The Amazon original HANNA returns for its second season with eight, one-hour episodes following the journey of an extraordinary young woman as she evades the relentless pursuit of a sinister government agency and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Following her discovery at the end of Season One, Hanna (Esmé Creed-Miles) now knows she is not the only young woman with unparalleled skill and elite training. The Utrax program has produced a whole contingent of highly trained teenagers, whose development is about to reach the lethal “second phase.” After their relocation to The Meadows facility, these trainees find their restrictions lifted and glimpse the possibility of a new identity in the outside world. But this apparent freedom will come at a heavy price.

Yet as Hanna delves deeper into the elusive world of The Meadows and meets others like herself, including Sandy (Áine Rose Daly) and Jules (Gianna Kiehl), she begins to question her role in the larger context of Utrax’s assassin program and ultimately, where she truly belongs.

Deep in the Romanian forest, Hanna and Clara can taste their freedom while the remaining Utrax trainees are transferred to a new educational facility called The Meadows, where they are assigned new identities. Marissa is recruited by an old colleague, John Carmichael, Director of The Meadows, to lure Clara back to Utrax.

Character Descriptions
Raised in a remote forest by her father Erik, Hanna was trained to fight and survive. When discovered by Utrax, a top-secret organization intent on capturing her, she is forced to use her training to escape. While running for her life, it is revealed that Hanna was born at the Utrax facility – the product of a clandestine program to create genetically perfect assassins - and that others just like her were still being held at the facility. She returns to Utrax to rescue the other girls, but only one, Clara, is willing to leave. After her father is killed in the battle, Hanna returns to the forest with Clara. She knows that Utrax will come looking for them.
Sandy (previously named trainee 242) is a disciplined Utrax assassin who appears to be a wholesome Midwest teenager. Her unquestioning faith in Utrax and her absolute commitment to the program makes her a lethal threat to anyone that gets in her way, including her fellow trainees. When Sandy is sent out on her first assignment, she’ll stop at nothing to complete it.
Once a highly successful CIA operative, and senior member of the mysterious Utrax operation, Marissa’s world was disrupted when she discovered that Hanna and Erik were still alive and living in the forest. Desperate to find Hanna and return her to the program, Marissa employs all the means at her disposal, both legal and illegal. In the course of her search, Marissa discovered that everything she had been led to believe about Utrax was a lie. Now on the outside, a disgraced Marissa must protect both herself and Hanna from the devious organization she once trusted.

Jules is an intelligent Utrax trainee with a simmering rebellious streak. She is driven to make her own decisions despite the mental and emotional conditioning of the program. Still, she chooses to be an ambitious and fully committed Utrax assassin, and won’t tolerate those who aren’t loyal to the organization.
Previously known as trainee 249, Clara Mahan escaped from Utrax and into the forest with the help of her new companion, Hanna. Despite being raised inside of the relentlessly disciplined Utrax regime, Clara has an innate curiosity. When Hanna shows her a file containing details of the mother she never knew she had, she becomes intent on finding her and starting a new life outside of Utrax.
After Hanna’s escape, John Carmichael took over Utrax from Marissa Wiegler and is now leading Phase 2 of the Utrax operation. He’s tasked with making the trainees ready to head out into the world on missions to support the Utrax agenda. Experienced, calm and measured, Carmichael runs a tight ship… until now. Faced with a missing trainee and a rebellious ex-operative, Carmichael must protect the mission of the Utrax operation at all costs.
Terri is a newly-inducted, motivated and discerning Utrax analyst. Tasked with architecting new, distinct identities and backstories for each trainee, Terri’s intense fascination with the program helps her develop a uniquely humanistic link to the young assassins. Her acute analyses of the trainees’ mental and emotional well-beings, paired with her eager-to-please attitude, make Terri a valuable Utrax operative.
Leo is a confident and socially skilled Utrax operative. Brought in to guide the trainees towards full social integration, his cool and charming demeanor compliments his strict authority over them. His ability to appear empathetic and sensitive toward the trainees is contrasted by a cold, unwavering ambition to service the requests of his employers, no matter how brutal.
