  • About

The Transparent Musicale Finale is a love letter. In this hilarious, melancholy, and brazen two-hour fantasia, we salute the Pfeffermans, the legacy of Transparent, and the musicals we grew up on. After the death of Maura, the Pfeffermans must come to terms with loss, and reconnect to celebrate family, joy and transformation. Sarah, Josh, and Ari are sent on a journey of grief and self-discovery, delving into the past (like Josh’s fraught romance with Rabbi Raquel), and possibilities of the future. Meanwhile, Shelly seems more concerned with her new autobiographical play than the funeral—or comforting her offspring. Friends and family from across the years return to pay their respects as the Pfeffermans search for the best way to honor Maura’s memory.  As the funeral approaches, the past and present collide in a spectacular celebration of life.

With no less then ten songs and musical numbers, plus an astonishing soundtrack, The Transparent Musicale Finale hopes to surprise and delight long time fans, and to bring new audiences into the world of the Pfefferman family to laugh, cry, and SING. Transparent is not ending -- it's transitioning -- into a musical -- and we can't wait to share it with the world.
