Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg Join Cast of Prime Video’s My Spy Sequel, My Spy: The Eternal City; Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, and Ken Jeong to Reprise Roles

Pete Segal will return to direct the sequel, which also stars Billy Barratt, Taeho K, and returning cast members Nicola Correia-Damude, Noah Dalton Danby, and Devere Rogers

 

CULVER CITY, California—February 23, 2023—Today Prime Video announced that Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg have joined the cast of director Pete Segal’s My Spy sequel, My Spy: The Eternal City, with Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, and Ken Jeong reprising their roles. The highly anticipated sequel follows Prime Video’s 2020 release of STXfilms’ My Spy, which was the third most-watched SVOD released film that year according to ScreenEngine.

 

The action-comedy, which hails from Amazon Studios, will be produced by Chris Bender and Jake Weiner via Good Fear Content, joined by Dave Bautista and Jonathan Meisner via Dogbone Entertainment, Pete Segal, Robert Simonds, and Gigi Pritzker via Madison Wells. Jon and Erich Hoeber will executive produce alongside Adam Fogelson and Sam Brown, and Madison Wells’ Rachel Shane. Based on a story by Pete Segal, Jon and Erich Hoeber (My Spy; The Megwrote the script, with revisions by Segal. My Spy: The Eternal City is an STXfilms/Madison Wells Studio production.

 

In the film, a now teenage Sophie (Chloe Coleman) convinces JJ (Dave Bautista) to chaperone her school choir trip to Italy where they both unwittingly end up pawns in an international terrorist plot targeting CIA Chief, David Kim (Ken Jeong), and his son, Collin–also Sophie’s best friend. 

 

Billy Barratt (Invasion) and Taeho K (Colony) are also joining the cast, with Nicola Correia-Damude (The Boys), Noah Dalton Danby (Titans), and Devere Rogers (Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.) reprising their roles. The Amazon Original Movie will be available to stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Production begins this month.

Anna Faris hosts Anna Faris is Unqualified, her top-rated weekly interview and advice podcast, and recently released the relationship-themed game, Dealbreakers, based on her podcast segment of the same name. Previously, Faris executive produced and starred in The House Bunny and What’s Your Number, with additional credits including the Oscar-nominated and critically acclaimed Lost in TranslationBrokeback MountainSmiley Face, and The Estate. She also previously starred in the CBS comedy Mom and has lent her voice talent to the films Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and the sequel Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2, Yogi Bear, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, and The Emoji Movie.

 

Craig Robinson is best known for his portrayal of ‘Daryl Philban’ in The Office and has starred in films including Knocked Up, This is the End, Hot Tub Time Machine, and The Bad Guys. Robinson also re-teamed with Brooklyn Nine-Nine executive producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici for Peacock's hit scripted comedy show Killing It, which just wrapped filming season two.

Flula Borg most recently united with Adam Devine, Sarah Hyland and Jameela Jamil in Peacock’s Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, a six-episode spinoff of the acclaimed film franchise which was just renewed for a second season. Borg can also be seen in The Suicide SquadPitch Perfect 2Bromates, and the Slamdance-winning Buddymoon. He has also voiced characters for animated films including LuckFerdinandRalph Breaks the Internet, and Trolls World Tour. Borg’s successful YouTube channel has garnered hundreds of millions of views with multiple viral videos featured on TNT's Inside the NBA, NBC's The Today Show, ESPN’s SportsCenter, and CONAN. Borg’s TV appearances include The RookieCurb Your EnthusiasmThe Good Place, and more, with a sizeable career in television animation in series such as Centaurworld and Aquaman: King of Atlantis. 


Dave Bautista was recently seen in the M. Night Shyamalan film Knock at The Cabin for Universal Pictures and can be seen in the final installment of Marvel’s Guardian of The Galaxy Vol. 3 in May. Additionally, this fall he reprises his role of ‘Glossu Rabban Harkonnenin’ in Dune: Part Two opposite Timothée Chalamet for director Denis Villeneuve.


Chloe Coleman will next star in Sony’ sci-fi thriller 65 opposite Adam Driver, followed by Paramount’s Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, where she will star alongside Chris Pine, Michele Rodriguez, and Hugh Grant. Coleman most recently completed production on Netflix’s The Pain Hustlers, with Emily Blunt and Chris Evans, directed by David Yates.


Most recently, Kristen Schaal can be seen starring in the Hulu series Mysterious Benedict Society opposite Tony Hale. Previously, she can be seen in features Bill & Ted Face the Music opposite Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter and Prime Video’s My Spy opposite Dave Bautista. 


Following his breakout roles in Knocked Up and The Hangover franchise, Ken Jeong’s upcoming projects include AppleTV+’s comedy series The Afterparty, as well Charlie Day’s upcoming film Fool’s Paradise. Jeong can currently be seen as a panelist on The Masked Singer, and as the host and executive producer of I Can See Your Voice. Prior to this, Jeong created, wrote, executive produced and starred on ABC’s Dr. Ken. He is well-known as a series regular on NBC’s Community, from his Netflix standup special You Complete Me, Ho, as well as blockbuster films such as Crazy Rich Asians, Pineapple Express, Step Brothers, and Ride Along 2.
